Boitata Topia challenge

Description

Boitatá, the vengeful spirit of the forest.

A spirit that was born of the first victim of a criminal fire that happened in Brazil, and this animal was a Jararaca. The more animals were getting lost because of the fire, the more Boitatá grew and became stronger to the point of being gigantic and having many eyes, eyes that are of other animals killed by the fire. Revenge brings a bit of comfort to this suffering spirit, and because of this, the forest is more protected against criminal fires, since humans are not able to fight this beast, so it is smarter to leave the forest in peace.

Choice work you got here. Boitata is the obvious center of the piece, around which all other action unfolds. I like to think she/he/it/they are about to devour some hapless fools who were about to set the jungle on fire to make a clearing to grow cash crops, mine for rubber, or something. If only we had something like it in real life...

The serpent is beautiful. Its scales are lovingly detailed, and its color palette puts a fresh spin on things without becoming off-putting. You could've gone the easy route and made Boi plain green, blue, or any other color I've only seen a million times in my lifetime, but this light-lavender and emerald scheme suits it. You're also amazing at drawing flames. They transition so seamlessly from green to red and back. I would've liked the eyes over the snake's body to be better defined. Contrary to your description, they look like they're just kinda there.

Overall, this is an excellent piece. I recommend you put this in your portfolio. Kudos.
